Take Peter Shaffer’s magnificent play, with a full cast of 20, add a 20-person onstage moving orchestra, a 90+ piece costume design by the trailblazing atelier Romance Was Born, and transform the legendary Sydney Opera House Concert Hall into a proscenium Arch Theatre with an architecturally wondrous set design. Led by the great Michael Sheen and playing for 2000 people a night as the flagship of the 50th Anniversary of the Sydney Opera House, this was ambition on another level. Sat nervously off to the side of the stage following our first public performance, the roar from the crowd at the play's epic conclusion was the payoff for the monumental effort that went it from every single person who pulled this together.”
